Meijer Gift Registry Ad
As a part of the 2006 Meijer Gift Registry marketing campaign, I was asked to create an ad for a bridal magazine. I successfully represented the distinctive products Meijer offers to its customers and separated Meijer from the simpler ads featured in the magazine. I was able to come up with a solution by using stock photography and illustration.

Unconventional Calendar
For this project I was given a type family and asked to create an unconventional calendar in black and white, which reflected the characteristics of the type family. The grid is based off of the italic angle and the size and shape of the calendar is related to the tall x-heights.

Twisted Roots Festival
Using an exploratory fine arts perspective, I created promotional materials for the 2005 Twisted Roots Music Festival. To capture the flavor and atmosphere of the festival, I used iconic fruit and music imagery and paired them with bright, organic tones. Additionally, I solidified the piece using a series of trendy font applications.

Vote
This series of posters was generated for a college audience during the last election year. Unification was reached by typography and imagery treatment. The type is clean and sharp to portray a clear message. Each image has rough edges to contrasts with the clarity of social messages.

Fifth Third River Bank Run
Our team was hired by Loren Creative to develop the 2005 look for the Fifth Third River Bank Run. The complete design package included training and race day T-shirts, a training manual, bill boards, brochures, and other campaign materials.

Meijer Book Cover Redesigns
I was asked to redesign the book covers for both Thrifty Years The Life of Hendrik Meijer and Fredrick Meijer In His Own Words. Each of these books serve as a tribute to Hendrik Meijer and the Meijer legacy. I chose to design a modern cover yet illustrated the warm and approachable nature of both Meijer men. In addition, I wanted to brand these books together under a unified design.

Chaco National Park Poster
The purpose is to expose the viewer to different aspects of the Chocoan culture. Turquoise was used to show the traditional color used in trade and pottery. While the patterns and textures are that of the desert. The illustration is rustic and wild through brush strokes and pulled art designs.

Juicy Trades
This company came to me in search of an identity. I created a series of three patterns implemented through the business cards, letterheads and envelopes. The logo grasps the nature of clothing with its hand drawn down to earth feel. This concept will be taken throughout the website as well, which will launch in spring of 2009.
